
Surge Fall in Tulsa, Win Streak Snapped at Seven

TULSA, OK- The Tulsa Drillers scored five runs in the fifth inning to come from behind and defeat the Wichita Wind Surge 10-4 on Saturday night. The loss snapped a seven-game win streak.
Wichita started the game with back-to-back home runs in the first inning. Jair Camargo and Chris Williams drilled solo home runs to give the Surge the early advantage.
Tulsa answered with pair of runs in the first to tie the game. Wichita scored a pair in the second on consecutive doubles from Leobaldo Cabrera and Edouard Julien to plate two.
Tulsa's Ryan January homered in the fourth inning to cut the deficit to one run. The Drillers sent eight hitters to the plate in the fifth inning and scored five runs to take the lead.
The Drillers matched their season high with 18 hits and hit six home runs on the night including a pair from Ryan Ward.
Alec Gamboa pitched three scoreless innings of relief to earn the win. Brent Headrick made his debut for the Surge and suffered the loss allowing seven runs.
The Surge are tied with Springfield for first place in the division in the second half.
Notes: The Surge are now 5-12 against the Drillers this season...DaShawn Keirsey, Jr snapped his nine game hit streak....Edouard Julien snapped a string of seven consecutive games scoring a run .... Wichita allowed a season high six home runs in the contest. The Wind Surge activated Jair Camargo and Ernie Yake from their rehab assignments at FCL Twins. Wichita also added LH Brent Headrick. Wichita promoted Catcher Roy Morales to AAA and assigned infielder Daniel Ozorio to Fort Myers and LH Tyler Palm to Cedar Rapids
Coming Up: The Wind Surge will resume action against the Tulsa Drillers tomorrow afternoon; July 24 for a 1:05 first pitch.
