Surf Rip Ducks Behind Homer Number 800

CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. - Atlantic City Surf designated hitter Juan Thomas hit a three-run home run to lead the Surf to an 11-6 win over the Long Island Ducks before a crowd of 6,206 at Citibank Park on Sunday.

The home run, his 12th of the season, was the 800th long ball in Atlantic City Surf history and exteded the team''s league record. Thomas also hit the first home run in Surf history back in 1998.

Reliever Scott Navarro earned the win for the Surf, limiting the Ducks to three hits over three innings to improve his record to 1-1.

Ducks starter Brad Whitworth was relieved early after giving up four earned runs on eight hits in two and two-thirds innings. Harriger was charged with the loss.

The Surf totaled 17 hits off of the Ducks pitchers, the most by an opponent against Long Island this season.
