ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (July 21, 2003) â Former Phillie and local favorite Darren Daulton will be making a special guest appearance at the Sandcastle on Wednesday, July 23, for Atlantic City's 6:35 p.m., contest with the Bridgeport Bluefish.
Daulton, the catcher and teammate of Surf manager Mitch Williams on the 1993 National League Champion Phillies, will participate in pre-game festivities and may be available for autographs.
The three-time All-Star spent 13 of his 14 professional seasons with Philadelphia and won a World Series ring in 1997 with the Florida Marlins at the end of his career.
"Dutch", as he is called, is one of the many members of the colorful 1993 squad to visit the Sandcastle during Williams' tenure. John Kruk and Wes Chamberlain have taken in games, while Pete Incaviglia and Kim Batiste have both played for the Surf (Incaviglia also served as a hitting instructor for the second half of the 2002 season).
