Surf in Playoff Chase

July 1, 2008 - Canadian American League (Can-Am)
Atlantic City Surf News Release

Atlantic City, N.J. - The Atlantic City Surf are gearing up for their four-game Independence Day series against the New Jersey Jackals, taking place Thursday, July 3 through Sunday, July 6. The homestand will be filled with promotions on what is traditionally the club's best-attended series of the season. Cecil Fielder's squad is still in the race for the first-half championship, currently just four games out of first place after last night's 11-6 victory at Nashua.

On Thursday, William Hung from "American Idol" will perform during the game, and will be available for photos and autographs. Bernie Robbins Jewelers also sponsors the post-game fireworks show.

Friday will see the Surf take to the field in their Independence Day-themed jerseys. The uniforms will be auctioned off to raise money for FACES of Autism and Autism Speaks, with the silent auction taking place throughout the four-game series, and the winners announced after Sunday's game (a change from previous announcements, in which auction winners would be determined after Friday's game). The evening will also include a post-game fireworks extravaganza presented by Trump Entertainment Resorts.

On Saturday, Surf baseball cards will be given to the first 500 fans 12 and under through the gates, sponsored by NIA.

The series finishes on Sunday, when all fans 12 and under will get into the game for free, while fans bringing their church bulletin to the game will receive $2 off of their ticket.

Ticket availability is limited for Thursday and Friday; less than one hundred Premium Box seats currently remain for Thursday's game. For ticket information, contact the Surf box office at (609) 344-7873, or visit the club's web site at acsurf.com.
