ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (July 16, 2003) – Robinson Cancel's solo home run in the top of the tenth inning lifted the Pennsylvania Road Warriors over the Atlantic City Surf, 9-7, Wednesday afternoon at the Sandcastle, snapping the Surf's four-game win streak.

Down 1-0 in the second inning, Atlantic City put together a five-run inning highlighted by Brandon Jackson's two-run single and an RBI base-hit off the bat of Jorge Meran.

The Road Warriors slowly chipped away at the Surf lead, however, scoring one run in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings to pull within one run.

Jose Amador roped a solo home run to tie the contest in the eighth inning, and after Rob Cafiero reached on an error, Dario Delgado stepped up and crushed a two-run homer to left field, giving the Road Warriors a 7-5 lead.

The Surf countered in the bottom of the ninth after Raul Marval led off with a single and eventually scored on a Brody Jackson base-hit. Lauro Felix, who had walked and move to third on Jackson's single, was driven in on a sacrifice fly by Ric Johnson to tie the contest up and send it into extra innings.

Cancel sent a Scott Navarro fastball over the left field wall to give Pennsylvania the lead in the tenth, and Alexis Osuna gave his team an insurance run with an RBI single that plated Delgado, who had reached on an error.

Eddy Ramos picked up his second save of the season after tossing a 1-2-3 bottom of the tenth

Road Warriors starter Chris Peters pitched a solid game, allowing five runs, just one earned, on seven hits while striking out two.

Surf starter Andy High tossed six innings, allowing four runs, three earned, on five hits with four strikeouts.

The Surf fell to 4-2 with the loss while Pennsylvania picked up its first win of the second half and moved to 1-5.

ON DECK: The Surf begin a six-game road trip with a three-game series against the Bridgeport Bluefish starting on Thursday, July 17, in Bridgeport, Conn.
