HAGERSTOWN, MD - Aaron Seuss hit two home runs and drove in three runs as the Hagerstown Suns (22-21) defeated the Kannapolis Intimidators (20-23) 5-2 at Municipal Stadium on Monday.

Kannapolis showed some power of their own as they scored first with a two-run third inning. Matt Inouye led off with a walk and scored on a Luis Sierra home run to right-center field.

Hagerstown tied the game in the fourth after Stephen King ripped a single and was along for the ride as Aaron Suess launched a ball to left field.

The Suns scoring continued in the bottom of the fifth as Jake Smolinski scored on a sacrifice fly to center by Dan Lyons. Smolinski barreled into Kannapolis catcher Inouye to break the ball free and take the lead.

Seuss connected with his second home run of the evening in the sixth, this time a solo shot to right-center field. Seuss finished the night with three hits.

Jeff Mandel (4-2) went six innings and was very effective as he picked up the win. Mandel only gave up two runs on three hits and had great defense behind him.

Anthony Carter (4-1) was tagged with his first lost of the season after he gave up four runs on seven hits, including both of Seuss' homers.

Smolinski scored an insurance run in the seventh on a fielder's choice off the bat of Dan Lyons. Smolinski slid around the plate and was called safe to score the Suns fifth and final run.

James Lehman held off the Intimidators with a 1-2-3 eighth inning and Edulin Abreu closed the game out and recorded his second save of the season.
