Chattanooga Lookouts News Release

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - Jacksonville's offense was running on full throttle, scoring runs in six different innings en route to an 8-3 win over the Lookouts in Saturday night action at AT&T Field. Jacksonville jumped off to an early 1-0 lead in the first due to some sloppy play by the Lookouts. With one out, Ryan Klosterman singled. After a passed ball and throwing error by pitcher Tim Corcoran on a pick off attempt, Klosterman found himself at third. Mike Stanton made the Lookouts pay by hitting a sacrifice fly to center. The Suns added two more runs in the third on an RBI double from Logan Morrison and Scott Cousins RBI single. Chattanooga entered the scoreboard in the third. Vinny Rottino led off with a single and advanced to second on a Russ Mitchell walk. After a double play, which put Rottino on third, James Tomlin singled to plate Rottino. Both teams exchanged runs in the fourth. Brad Davis hit a solo shot for the Suns, while Eddy Perez doubled and eventually came home on an Andrew Lambo ground out for the Lookouts. The runs kept rolling for Jacksonville, as Stanton hit a two-run shot in the fifth and accounted for another run in the sixth by drawing a bases-loaded walk. Kevin Randel hit a solo shot in the top of the eighth for the Suns to put the score 8-2. Following a previously used scoring template, the Lookouts added another run in the bottom portion of the eighth. Perez hit a one-out double and eventually found his way home on a Lambo ground out. Brad Stone (5-1) earned the win for the Suns. In five innings of work, he yielded two runs on four hits and one walk. Tim Corcoran dropped to 4-7 on the season, giving up six runs (three earned), seven hits, and one walk in five innings of work. He struck out three in the losing effort.
