Suns shutout the Lexington Legends

Hagerstown, MD: The Hagerstown Suns shut-out the Lexington Legends 5-0 on Saturday in front of the biggest crowd of the season at Municipal Stadium.

Yader Peralta and Zach Baldwin combined to two-hit the Legends as the Suns recorded their fourth shut-out of the year. Peralta pitched 5.2 scoreless innings, striking out four Legends and allowing only one hit and one walk. Baldwin matched Peralta pitch-for-pitch as he went 3.1 scoreless innings and allowed only one hit and one walk while striking out two batters in relief.

All of the runs in the game came in the bottom half of the second inning, as Marvin Lowrance scored on a bases-loaded single to right by Leonard Davis. Patrick Nichols then followed Davis with a long Grand Slam home run to right field to give the Suns a 5-0 lead.

Peralta (1-0) received the win, while Lexington starter Doug Arguello was saddled with the loss. Arguello (5-5) allowed five runs, three of them earned, in 5.1 innings pitched.

A crowd of 5,270 fans enjoyed the Suns' win and the post-game fireworks show at Municipal Stadium.
