HAGERSTOWN, MD - The Lakewood Blueclaws (8-11) bats erupted versus Hagerstown (8-11) on Tuesday night at Municipal Stadium. The BlueClaws belted out 12 hits on their way to the 10-3 victory. Chance Chapman (1-1) picked up his first win of the year with six strong innings of work. Suns starter Cole Kimball (1-1) took the loss. He only made it into the fourth and gave up five runs. Lakewood got on the board after only one batter. Right fielder Herman Demmink hit his first professional home run into the Suns bullpen. Demmink would come up a triple shy of the cycle on the night.

The BlueClaws added on three more runs in the third. After back to back base hits Dominic Brown lined a ball down the right field line that scored Demmink and Derrick Mitchell. Brown ended the day with three hits and four driven in.

The Suns got their first run in the bottom of the fifth on a Jhonatan Solano single that scored right fielder Michael Burgess. Already up five to one, the BlueClaws tacked on three more in the top of the sixth. It was more from the top of the Lakewood lineup as Demmink doubled to center and was brought in by Brown. Designated hitter Matthew Rizzotti then singled to bring in Brown and Mitchell who reached on a walk.

Hagerstown tried to close the gap in the eighth with two runs, but Lakewood responded with two of their own in the top of the ninth. The Suns and BlueClaws will wrap up the series on Wednesday morning at 10:35 at Municipal Stadium.
