
Suns Lose Grip of Lead, Legends Take Series

Lexington, KY - The Hagerstown Suns (57-38) could not keep an early 5-0 lead as the Lexington Legends (50-45) rallied to take the game, 10-7, and the series 3-games-to-1 at Whitaker Bank Ballpark on Tuesday night.
Suns' starting pitcher Taylor Hill (9-5) suffered the loss, going 5.1 innings, allowing nine runs (six earned) on nine hits. Steven Souza, Jr. went 2-for-5 with a double and his 17th home run of the year to drive in three runs. Cutter Dykstra finished the night 3-for-5 with a double and an RBI. Brian Goodwin belted a two-run home run, his ninth of the season.
Legends' starter Luis Ordosgoitti did not factor in the decision after allowing five runs on eight hits over five innings. Tommy Shirley (2-1) earned the win out of the bullpen, giving up two runs over 2.2 innings pitched. Closer Dayan Diaz (14) recorded the final four outs of the game for the save. Mike Kvasnicka, Ryan McCurdy and Nolan Fontana each had two RBIs to help the Legends' to a come from behind victory.
The Suns will enjoy a scheduled off-day Wednesday before returning to action at Municipal Stadium on Thirsty Thursday, presented by Benny's Pub. Hagerstown will begin an eight-game homestand versus the Augusta GreenJackets (Giants) with LHP Bobby Hansen, Jr. (2-1, 4.88) on the mound against the GreenJackets' LHP Bryce Bandilla (1-3, 2.05).
