Suns Drop Two in Lexington, Go for Series Split Tuesday

Lexington, KY - The Hagerstown Suns (57-37) fell in the resumption of Monday's suspended game, 11-1, and then lost game two to the Lexington Legends (49-45), 8-4, at Whitaker Bank Ballpark on Monday.

Brian Goodwin led off game one with a solo home run and then went 2-for-4 with a double to lead the Suns offense in the twin-bill. Suns' starting pitchers Chris McKenzie (2-3) and Kylin Turnbull (4-5) each suffered losses in their respective starts, combing to pitch 2.2 inning and allow 12 earned runs.

Legends' first baseman Zach Johnson drove in a combined five runs to take over the South Atlantic League lead in RBIs with 76 on the season. Reliever Mitchell Lambson (1-0) earned the win in game one with four scoreless innings out of the bullpen, while starter Luis Cruz (7-5) gave up two earned runs over 5.2 innings for the win in game two.

The Suns will conclude the series and road-trip on Tuesday night when RHP Taylor Hill (9-4, 4.58) starts the game against Lexington's RHP Luis Ordosgoitti (2-3, 5.45).
