Later in the inning, Jason Esposito, who had a career high four hits, singled through the right side of the infield to stretch the lead to 3-0. Wynston Sawyer's chopper to short that was mishandled by Rougned Odor allowed the fourth run of the inning to score. The Crawdads committed four errors on the night.

The Shorebirds scored seven runs in the third inning to blow the game open. Sawyer hit a two run single to left field to stretch the lead to 7-0. With the bases loaded, Pena launched a double off the left field wall to clear the bases and increase the lead to 11-0. Brenden Webb also had an RBI single in the 11-batter inning.
