
Suns Drop Shorebirds 13-5 in Finale

Hagerstown, Md. - The Hagerstown Suns (33-23) hit three home runs and cruised to a 13-5 victory in the series finale over the Delmarva Shorebirds (22-34) on Sunday afternoon at Municipal Stadium.
The Suns powered on the board in the first on a home run to right-center field by Jason Martinson.
In the second, Justin Miller took advantage of two walks in front of him and hit a single up the middle to give the Suns a 2-0 lead.
The Shorebirds responded in the third. Mychal Givens started a string of four consecutive hits with a two out double. Mikey Planeta followed with a double to left-center to score Givens. The Shorebirds tied the game on a single to left by Sammie Starr.
The Suns proceeded to score 11 unanswered runs to build a 13-2 lead after five innings. The Suns plated six runs in the fourth inning highlighted by a three-run home run to left field by Cutter Dykstra.
In the sixth inning, Connor Narron hit a line drive home run over the right-center field wall, his second home run in as many days. Narron is now tied for the team lead with five home runs.
The Shorebirds added a run to cut the deficit to 13-5 on a line drive single into right-center by Mychal Givens in the ninth inning.
Shorebirds starter Parker Bridwell took the loss over 3.1 innings. He allowed seven hits and nine runs.
Williams Louico entered for Bridwell and gave up three hits and one earned run over 1.2 innings. Matt Bywater allowed just one hit over three scoreless innings.
The Shorebirds travel to West Virginia for game one against the Power (Pirates) on Monday, June 4. LHP Matt Taylor is the scheduled starter for the Shorebirds.
