ZEBULON, N.C. –- The Suns exhibited unseen offensive prowess in its 10-4 victory over the Carolina Mudcats on Monday in front of 2,863 fans at Five County Stadium.

The Suns' 10 runs and 14 hits are both season bests which helped Jacksonville (8-10) snap its four-game losing streak.

Suns starter Heath Totten (1-2) earned the victory, pitching seven innings while allowing two earned runs and walking none. He had previously received nine total runs of support over his three previous starts.

Reggie Abercrombie and Brennan King each hit two-run home runs for the Suns who scored twice in the first and second innings off Mudcats starter Marty Barnett.

Barnett (0-2) earned the loss, giving up eight runs over 4-1/3 innings. He ran into trouble in the fifth inning when Jacksonville scored five times of he and reliever Omar Ortiz. Totten led off the inning with his first professional hit – a single – and scored on Koyie Hill's two-run double. Brock followed by doubling in Hill and then King homered on Ortiz's first pitch.

Derek Michaelis also had two RBI for the Suns. Jason Repko had four hits to lead Jacksonville. Hill had three hits.

Ryan Jorgensen homered to lead off the fifth inning for Carolina (15-3) which lost for the first time in 10 games. The Mudcats also committed four errors in an otherwise crisply played game which lasted two hours, 22 minutes.

The Southern League's youngest player, 19-year-old Suns right-hander Edwin Jackson (0-1, 4.30 ERA) will oppose Chattanooga Lookouts righty Dustin Moseley (1-0, 2.84 ERA) at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday at Bellsouth Park.
