Birmingham Barons News Release

BIRMINGHAM, AL – The Birmingham Barons return from their second road trip of the season to take on the Orlando Rays in a four-game series that begins tomorrow at 7:00 PM at the Hoover Met. This will be the only appearance at the Met for the O-Rays and the last for the Orlando franchise as the team is expected to move to nearby Montgomery at year's end.

Tuesday's series opener will feature $0.25 hot dogs and an Academy Sports and Outdoors Youth Clinic. Before the game, the Barons will be conducting a baseball clinic for youngsters that will feature instruction from several Barons players. The clinic begins at 4:30 and goes until 6:00 with an autograph session at the conclusion of the clinic. Then, during the game, fans can eat their fill of $0.25 hot dogs throughout the game thanks to our sponsor Zeigler Meats

Wednesday will be a special 11:00 AM start time for our first school day special. The game will feature the antics of entertainer Jumping Jack as well as the 2003 Got Milk? Shake Things Up Tour. The day's activities will include karaoke, milk mustache pictures and a Battle of the Bands contest.

As always, thanks to Nextel, Thursday's game will be $1.00 beverage night as all draft and fountain sodas are just $1.00 until the end of the seventh inning and wings are just $0.15 each.

The series will come to a close on Friday with a bang! Before the game, the first 1,000 adults that enter the ballpark will receive a free T-shirt courtesy of Dasani Water and Rite Aid and after the game fans will want to stick around for a spectacular fireworks show brought to you by Dale's Seasoning and State Farm Insurance.

Tickets for these and all Barons home games can be purchased by calling the Barons office at (205) 988-3200 or visiting us online at www.barons.com.
