Mobile BayBears News Release
Mobile, Ala. â The Mobile BayBears have things going there way right now, as they won their fourth straight game, coming from two runs down in the process. Mobile trailed Orlando 3-1 entering the bottom of the sixth. But the BayBears tacked a four spot on the board in the frame and went on to win 5-3 in game three of the series against the Rays.
Ian Harvey (2-0) picked up the win in relief throwing one inning, allowing one run and two hits. Rusty Tucker, the fifth BayBears pitcher of the night, earned his fourth save of the season, and third in as many days, working a scoreless ninth inning.
Vince Faison got things going for Mobile in the sixth, doubling with one out. Khalil Greene followed with a walk bringing Jon Knott to the plate representing the go-ahead run. Knott delivered with a three-run homerun off of Bartolome Fortunato (0-1). The tater was Knott's third of the season. Alex Fernandez followed Knott with a homer of his own. The solo shot was his first of the year. Fernandez was four-for-four on the night, the first four-hit game for a BayBears player this year.
The BayBears (7-10) will host the Rays (7-10) Monday night for the final game of their series. LHP Cory Stewart (0-2; 5.14) will start on the mound for Mobile against Orlando's RHP Brian Stokes (0-2; 1.20). Monday nights are guaranteed win nights at Hank Aaron Stadium. If the BayBears fail to win, everyone in attendance will receive a free box seat ticket for the next BayBears home game. Fist pitch at "The Hank" is set for 7:05.
