JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Florida Marlins have made a series of transactions that impacts their Double-A affiliate Jacksonville Suns roster prior to tonight's game against the Montgomery Biscuits at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville.

Right-handed relief pitcher Corey Madden has been transferred from Triple-A New Orleans to Jacksonville. Madden made two relief appearances with the Zephyrs over the past week, recording no wins or losses and he only allowed two hits in four innings on the mound. Madden began the season with the Suns, where he was 2-1 with a 2.85 ERA in 23 relief appearances.

In a corresponding move, right-handed reliever Chris Squires has been transferred from Jacksonville to High-A Jupiter. Squires made two relief appearances with the Suns over the past week, recording no wins or losses and he allowed two hits in three and a third innings on the mound.

In addition to these moves, right-handed reliever Jhan Marinez has been placed on the temporary inactive list so he can participate in the 2011 XM All-Star Futures Game at Chase Field in Phoenix, Ariz., on Taco Bell All-Star Sunday tomorrow. Marinez, a native of the Dominican Republic, will be the lone representative for the Marlins organization in the event. Marinez is 3-7 this season with a 4.24 ERA in 34 relief appearances, and he also has one save.

The Suns roster now stands at 24, and a revised roster is attached.

The Suns and Biscuits will play in the second game of the four game series on Saturday night at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville. Right-handed pitcher Omar Poveda (3-5, 4.88 ERA) will pitch for the Suns against Montgomery's right-hander Jim Paduch (1-3, 4.93 ERA).

Also on Saturday, the Suns will host their annual Buffett Night at the Baseball Grounds. Fans can get LandShark beer specials and Cheeseburgers in Paradise and the first 3,000 fans receive a bobblehead of Suns pitcher Elih Villaneuva in a Buffett jersey. Plus, the Suns will wear special Jimmy Buffett style jerseys that will be auctioned off during and after the game. Fans are also invited to stick around for a special Post-Game Concert with the George Aspinall Band.

Saturday's first pitch is set for 6:05 p.m., and fans can listen to the game beginning at 5:50 p.m. with the U.F. & Shands Pregame Show on Jacksonville's WFXJ AM 930 the Fox and www.jaxsuns.com.
