Sundogs Top Jacks 3-2 in Shootout

(Odessa, TX) - Joel Irving scored the shootout winner to seal a 3-2 win for Arizona against the Jackalopes on Saturday at the Ector County Coliseum.
Arizona took a 1-0 lead into the third period before Odessa took the one goal lead on marks from Kory Karlander and Sebastien Thinel. Arizona forced overtime thanks to Peter Cartwright's first goal of the season. Legault for the Sundogs, and Jeff Pierce for Odessa were the other goal scorers in the shootout rounds.
The Jacks begin a three game road trip starting Thursday in Laredo against the Bucks at 7:00 PM.
The Odessa Jackalopes are the Central Hockey League affiliate for the NHL's New York Islanders and the AHL's Bridgeport Sound Tigers. The team is in its 12th season and will play it's home opener on Halloween night against the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees at 7:05 PM.
