Wichita Thunder News Release
TULSA, OK- The Wichita Thunder saw their three-game winning streak end on Saturday night with a 3-1 loss to the Tulsa Oilers. Tulsa forward Michel Beausolei scored a pair of goals late in the third period for all of the offense the Oilers would need. Wichita cut the lead in hald in the third period, when Jason Duda tipped in a shot from Jason Tessier on the power play at 13:47. Wichita had a chance with the extra attacker with less than a minute left in regulation, but Tulsa's Jeff Christian scored on an empty net with two seconds left to put the game away.
Duda's goal marked the fourth straight game that Wichita has scored on the power play. Dan McWhinney saved 23 of 25 shots while taking the loss.
Wichita returns to action Sunday evening at 5:05 p.m. when they host the Rapid City Rush at the Kansas Coliseum. A postgame skate and autograph session will take place afterward. Skates will not be available for rental this season. For tickets, call the Thunder office at 264-GOAL.
