Sundogs Make A Pair Of Roster Moves

PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. - Arizona Sundogs Head Coach and General Manager Marco Pietroniro announced today a pair of roster moves including the addition of defenseman Nick Biondo to the team's roster. Additionally, d-man Marek Jancek has been placed on 14-day I.R.

Biondo, 24, appeared in two games with the Sundogs to start the season, tallying four shots and a minus-2 rating in a pair of Opening Weekend losses to the expansion Allen Americans before being released.

Prior to turning pro, the Parma, Ohio, native skated for four seasons at Ohio State University notching five goals, nine assists and 63 penalty minutes (PIM) in 68 collegiate contests. During his junior year in 2007-08, the 5-foot-9, 185-pound forward established career-bests with four goals, six assists, ten points and 26 PIM.

Prior to his four-year career with the Buckeyes, Biondo skated for four seasons in the North American Hockey League (NAHL) with the Cleveland Barons, Soo Indians and Bozeman IceDogs, collecting 141 points (55g/86a) and 567 PIM in 270 career junior contests.

Jancek, 24, has skated in 12 contests for the Sundogs this season, collecting two goals and a team-high 49 PIM.
