UNCASVILLE, CT. (July 5, 2006) - The Connecticut Sun will be well represented during the WNBA All-Star Game on July 12th at Madison Square Garden as Nykesha Sales, Margo Dydek and Lindsay Whalen were all voted to the Eastern Conference starting lineup.

Indiana Fever forward Tamika Catchings and New York Liberty guard Becky Hammon are the other two starters on the Eastern Conference team.

"I'm just happy for those three," Sun coach Mike Thibault said. "I hope we get some more players on the team when the coaches' votes are counted. I think winning has put our players in the forefront of the fans' minds. It says a lot about where we're heading as an organization. I hope they have a great time at the league's showcase event. All three have had a great impact on our success."

Sales, who has participated in all six previous All-Star games, is averaging 14.2 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game for the Sun.

Dydek, who is making her second appearance in the All-Star game and her first as a member of the Sun, is averaging 10.3 points, 6.1 rebounds and a league-leading 2.6 blocked shots per game. Dydek represented San Antonio in the 2003 All-Star game.

Whalen is making her first appearance in the WNBA All-Star game. She is currently fourth in the WNBA in assist average (4.9 apg), and she is among the league leaders in assist-to-turnover ratio.
