Minnesota Lynx News Release
In a dogfight of a game, the Minnesota Lynx withstood a strong third quarter by the visiting Washington Mystics to win their first game in their last six tries. The Mystics outscored the Lynx 23-16 in the third period, but, with the help of Seimone Augustus' 25 points, they slowed the Mystics down the stretch and came away victorious. Amber Jacobs also put together a nice game for the home team, scoring 15 points and adding six assists. Kristen Mann and Svetlana Abrosimova had 13 points each for Minnesota. The Mystics, who were without leading scorer Alana Beard, were lead by Nikki Teasley's 20 points and nine assists.
UP NEXT Detroit at Minnesota - Friday night (July 7) at Target Center (7 p.m.) Former Lynx All-Star Katie Smith will make her first visit to the Target Center since being traded to the Detroit Shock last July 30. For the season, Smith is averaging 11.9 ppg. Cheryl Ford leads the team in scoring at 15.1 ppg and leads the WNBA in rebounding at 12.2 rpg.
