Connecticut Sun News Release
UNCASVILLE, Conn. (March 19, 2013) - The Connecticut Sun will open its 11th season by hosting the New York Liberty in the first of three preseason games on May 11th at 7 p.m. at Mohegan Sun Arena.
Connecticut will also play a road game against the Liberty on May 18th at 4 p.m., and close out the preseason May 21st at Minnesota, facing the Lynx at 12 noon.
The game on May 11th will mark the debut of new head coach Anne Donovan, who was hired in January.
"We are excited to begin a new era here in Connecticut," Sun Vice President and General Manager Chris Sienko said Tuesday. "New York has always been a great rival. I am certain new head coach Bill Laimbeer will have them in contention this season. Two games with New York and a road game against the two-time Western Conference champs will give us a good early gauge on our team."
The Connecticut Sun will open its 11th season at Mohegan Sun Arena on Saturday, May 25th, against the New York Liberty at 7 p.m. Season tickets for 2013 are currently on sale, and can be reserved by calling a Sun Ticket Sales Representative at 1.877.SUN.TIXX or by e-mailing the Sun at tickets@connecticutsun.com.
