Edinburg, TX - Brock Nehls started his Harlingen WhiteWings (17-42) debut by retiring the first eight hitters he faced and not allowing a hit to the Edinburg Coyotes (27-33) until there were two outs in the fourth and got a no-decision in an 8-6 loss tonight at Edinburg Stadium.
The WhiteWings got on the board against Carlos Jan in the third. With one out, David Fowler walked and stole second. Kevin Griffin followed with an RBI-single. One out later, David Cardona singled and Ryan Fox hit a two-run double to make it 3-0.
In the fifth, Cardona led off with a single and Fox reached on an error. Joel Gonzalez singled. Cardona was going to hold at third, but when the ball was bobbled in left, Cardona scored. Trey Hendrciks followed with a two-run double to make it 6-0.
