Amarillo Dillas News Release
Amarillo Tx - The Amarillo Dillas found the win column for the first time in five games on Saturday night, as the Dillas defeated the San Angelo Colts, 7-4, in front of 3,315 fans at the Amarillo National Bank Dilla Villa.
Dillas all-star pitcher Micah Posey did again what he has done all year for the team, win. Posey improved his record to a impressing 9-1 after going seven strong innings, giving up four runs (three earned) on 11 hits.
The pitching didn't stop with Posey, as Nate Mateo came into the top of the eighth inning with Colts on second and third with no outs.
Mateo struck out the first batter, received a great diving catch from Dillas center fielder Johnathan Reynoso to get the second out, who then struck out Colts catcher Wyn Diggs to end the inning.
Ralph Roberts came into the ninth to shut the door on the Colts, earning his fourth save of the season.
The Dillas also swung the bats well, as every starter was credited with a hit in the game.
A.J. Johnson led the charge going 2-for-4 with a double and a triple. Back-up catcher Brian Bueno finished the game going 2-for-4 with a RBI and run scored, while right fielder Stephen Douglass went 2-for-4 with a run scored.
Center fielder Johnathan Reynoso went 1-for-4 with a RBI and run scored, but will remembered in the game as the man that made a great sliding catch to prevent what would have been a game-tying two run single in the top of the eighth inning.
The Dillas and Colts will wrap up the rain-shortened series tomorrow night at the Amarillo National Bank Dilla Villa. First pitch is scheduled for 6:05 p.m., and is free admission, courtesy of Street Toyota.
