AMARILLO, TX - The Amarillo Dillas got another dominating pitching performance from Ronald Lowe, who went seven innings and gave up only one earned run with seven strikeouts as the Dillas defeated the Edinburg Roadrunners 13-3 on Sunday night at the Amarillo National Bank Dilla Villa in front of 2,310 fans. The victory puts the Dillas one win away from a third-straight United League Baseball Championship.

Lowe (2-0) gave up only six hits and no walks in the effort, his second quality start in the playoffs. Roadrunners starter Mark DiBernardo (1-1) gave up nine runs and nine hits in six innings of work in the loss.

The Dillas took a big lead in the first as Jermel Lomack and Carlos Figueroa both reached on singles, while Julio Martinez was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Stephen Douglas drew a walk to score Lomack while Alberto Cruz emptied the bases on an 0-1 pitch for his second grand slam this season for a 5-0 lead.

Edinburg got on the board in the fourth inning as Ambiorix Concepcion and Wilson Batista both singled. Both runners stole, but the throw to second went into the outfield to score Concepcion and send Batista to third. Alexis Hernandez singled to score Batista for a 5-2 score.

Amarillo scored again in the fifth as Joaquin Rodriguez singled and scored on a Figueroa RBI triple, while Figueroa scored on a infield single by Douglas for a 7-2 advantage.

The Roadrunners got back on the board in the sixth as Daryl Jones reached second on an error, went to third on a wild pitch and scored on a Concepcion RBI groundout for a 7-3 deficit.

The Dillas got on the board big in the seventh as Brian Bueno and Lomack singled to lead off while Rodriguez walked to load the bases. Figueroa singled to score Bueno and Lomack, while Kevin Butler hit a three-run homerun to clear the bases. Douglas followed with another infield single and scored on an RBI double from Cruz for a 13-3 lead.

Amarillo relievers J.R. Boling and Chris Ingoglia finished off Edinburg in the eighth and ninth to preserve the win.
