Strong Pitching and Timely Hitting Earns Bullfrogs 10th Win

Green Bay, Wis. - A Bullfrogs victory at Joannes Stadium tonight as they beat the Eau Claire Express, 4-2. A quality start from Chad Mabini (Western Carolina) and timely hitting gives the Bullfrogs their tenth win of the season.
The Bullfrogs and the Express cruised through the first three innings as both starting pitchers kept the opposing offense in check. In the top of the fourth, the Express would take a one run lead off a RBI single by Eric Marinconz (Cal Poly). That lead would not last long as the Bullfrogs jumped on Ryan Hamilton (Augustana) in the bottom half of the fourth. Matt Hoeg (Iowa Western CC) drove in the first run on a single to center to plate Marcus Shoemaker (Lenoir Rhyne). Then Jonah Davis sent a no doubter to right field for his second two run home run in as many days. The Bullfrogs noe lead 3-1 after four.
In the sixth, the Express got one run back off a sac fly by Jared Mang (New Mexico) but the Bullfrogs would respond. Parker Coss (UC-Irvine) drove in Austin Clemons (Louisville) on a single to right center. The Bullfrogs would take two run lead into the ninth.
BJ Sabol (Indiana) came on in the ninth with a runner on first with nobody out. Sabol got Daulton Varsho (UW-Milwaukee) to strike out for the first out of the inning. After a walk and a double steal, runners were at second and third. Sabol bared down and struck out the next two Epxress hitters to secure a Bullfrogs victory.
Chad Mabini got his first win of the season after going six strong innings. Shoemaker finsiehd with two hits, Clemons had three, and Jonah Davis had two RBIs. BJ Sabol earned his first save of the season.
Bullfrogs are back in action tomorrow as they take on the Express in game two of the series. First pitch 7:05pm.
