Streaking To The Playoffs?

Midland RockHounds News Release
The RockHounds continued to roll this weekend, with three more wins to extended their current streak to 10 games and pull within one game of division leading Frisco. The win streak is both the longest this season and with the current Oakland affiliation. The RockHounds actually broke the affiliation record twice this season after starting out the year with eight straight wins.
The final game of a four game series and home stand with Corpus Christi is Monday night at 6:30 PM. The RockHounds will try for their third consecutive sweep before hitting the road for a six game stint in Springdale, Arkansas and Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Frisco has already clinched a playoff berth, via a first half championship, which means the last berth will go to the 2nd half champion. If Frisco sweeps both halves, then a wild card rule comes into play (the team with the next best overall record for the entire season).
As it stands now, the RockHounds are a game and a half off of the wild card pace, set by San Antonio. Every night will have high importance, as just 26 games remain after Monday's games.
Jason Fernandez will make his first career Double-A start for the RockHounds tonight. Fernandez, who made his RockHounds debut in relief, will step into Vincent Mazzaro's spot in the rotation. Mazzaro is currently holding on to the best ERA in the history of the Midland franchise, so needless to say, Fernandez will have big shoes to fill tonight...not to mention a ten game win streak that will be on the line.
