Orlando City SC News Release
Cemented in Club History
With his finish in Houston this past Saturday night, Dom Dwyer tied Kaka for second in Club history with his 24th finish as a Lion. The goal served as Dwyer's second in as many games and his seventh of 2019 for City, trailing only Nani and Tesho Akindele on the squad. He trails only Cyle Larin for finishes in Club history, with his next goal giving him sole possession of second all-time.
Last Time Around
In the lone previous meeting between City and FC Cincinnati, the Lions took a 5-1 victory on May 19 in Orlando. The match saw the Lions set a season-high in goals, assists and shots on goal with Nani and Tesho Akindele each scoring a brace in the match and Dom Dwyer adding another to the Lions' account. Sunday will serve as the Lions' first visit to Nippert Stadium in Club history, looking for the season sweep against the Orange and Blue.
Approaching the Century Mark
Goalkeeper Brian Rowe currently sits at 99 saves for the Lions this season, putting him one away from becoming the second goalkeeper in City history to reach 100 saves in a season. Former City goalkeeper Joe Bendik passed the 100 mark in both 2016 and 2017, with 114 and 118 saves respectively. Rowe currently sits second in Club history in saves, having passed former Lions' goalkeeper Tally Hall (73) earlier this season.
Defensive Stronghold
With two matches to go in the regular-season, the Lions remain on pace to set a Club-record for fewest goals conceded in a single-season. The current record sits at 56, set in the Club's inaugural season in 2015. City have allowed 46 goals this season, tied for fifth fewest in the Eastern Conference. The Lions also sit one clean sheet away from breaking the current Club-record of seven in a single season, set in both 2015 and 2017.
Milestone Tracker
Nani is one assist away from tying the Club's single-season record of 10, held by both former Lions Kaka (2016) and Yoshi Yotún (2018).
Goalkeeper Brian Rowe is one save away from his 100th as a Lion.
Chris Mueller is one appearance away from his 60th MLS cap.
