Guelph Storm News Release

General Manager and Head Coach George Burnett is pleased to announce the hiring of Denver Manderson as the club's new Skill Development Coach.

Born and raised in Fergus Ontario, Manderson played his minor hockey in Guelph. He was drafted by the Storm in 2005 and went on to play seven years of professional hockey, highlighted by his stints with the Wilkes-Barre Penguins and the Toronto Marlies.

"We are excited to add Denver as an important resource for our coaching staff and players," said Burnett. "His experience working with both young players and professionals will allow him to make important contributions to our development process."

In 2017, Manderson retired from hockey and made the transition into skill development. As well as working with the Storm this season, he is also part of the skills and development staff for the Toronto Maple Leafs.

"I'm really excited to be joining the Storm this season," Manderson said. "There are a lot of talented players that will be great to work with. Guelph is an exceptional organization and it's an incredible opportunity for me to be a part of it."

Manderson will begin duties with the club this week as the Storm kick off Training Camp August 26th at the Sleeman Centre.
