Storm to honour McCollum

January 22, 2009 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Guelph Storm News Release

On Friday, February 20th before the game against the Owen Sound Attack the Storm's all time leader in career shutouts and goals against average will return to the Sleeman Centre for an on ice presentation.

The Storm will honour former goaltender Thomas McCollum for his particpation in the World Junior Championship in Ottawa over the Christmas break. Joining the Brampton Battalion at the trade deadline, McCollum hasn't played a game in Guelph since December 12th.

The team will honour the Sanborn native, as they do all World Junior participants, by placing his name high in the rafters among the list of Guelph Storm participants.

McCollum played three seasons with the Storm. Signed as a free agent in 2006, the 19 year old was recently drafted by the Detroit Red Wings in the 1st round (30th overall) of the 2008 NHL Draft.
