Guelph Storm News Release
Winning two of their final three games of the regular season last week, the Storm solidified 5th in the Western Conference and will take on the London Knights in a playoff series for the third time in four years. The Storm defeated the Kitchener Rangers on Wednesday in an exciting shootout to gain an important two points in the playoffs race. Anthony Nigro was the shootout hero and Brandon Buck scored the other Storm goal in the win. Friday night in Guelph, the Storm handily defeated the Owen Sound Attack by a score of 7-2, Brandon Buck and Matt Kennedy both recorded hat tricks in the win while Leigh Salters picked up the other tally. A 7-5 loss on Saturday to the Erie Otters didn't have any bearing on the final standings as the Storm put up the best record in the final week among the Western Conference teams vying for a fifth spot. ________________________________________
