
Storm Set to Host Youth Hockey Night

KEARNEY, NE - The Tri-City Storm is set to host the organization's annual Youth Hockey Night tonight at the Viaero Center in a matchup against the Sioux Falls Stampede. The Storm will wear specialty sweaters that will be auctioned off following the game. The game is presented by the Tri-City Youth Ice Hockey Association. Puck drop for tonight's battle between the Storm and the Stampede is scheduled for 7:05pm CT.
Tri-City (30-18-3-3) clinched a spot in the 2023 Clark Cup Playoffs with a 6-3 victory over the Sioux Falls Stampede last night at the Viaero Center. Tri-City has reached the thirty-win plateau in three consecutive regular seasons for the first time in organizational history. The Storm improved to 6-0-0-0 in head-to-head matchups against the Stampede this season in last night's three-goal victory. Jake Richard, Charlie Kinsman, Cam O'Neill, Kieran Cebrian, Trevor Connelly, and Graham Gamache all netted goals for Tri-City during the victory. The Storm is 12-3-1-0 in home games played against the Stampede over the last five seasons. Tri-City has won thirteen of the last fifteen games played against Sioux Falls. Scoring leaders for the Storm entering tonight's fifty-fifth game of the regular season include Jake Richard (29), Graham Gamache (19), Trevor Connelly (18), Evan Werner (17), Kieran Cebrian (15), and Dane Dowiak (14). The Storm will return to action on Tuesday night in a home game against the Omaha Lancers following tonight's battle against the Stampede at the Viaero Center. Puck drop for Tuesday's home game is scheduled for 7:05pm CT.
Sioux Falls (21-27-4-3) remains the USHL's Western Conference's sixth-place team despite the three-goal road loss last night to Tri-City. The Stampede currently holds a one-point lead over the Des Moines Buccaneers for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference. Isaac Gordon, Ryan Gordon, and Samuel Harris each netted a goal in last night's road game at the Viaero Center. Sioux Falls is 8-20-1-1 in head-to-head matchups against Tri-City during the last five seasons. The Stampede fell to 4-19-1-2 when trailing after the 1st period, and 2-24-2-1 when trailing after the 2nd period this season in last night's loss. Scoring leaders for Sioux Falls entering tonight's road game against the Storm include Samuel Harris (26), Isaac Gordon (17), Maddox Fleming (13), Nick Ring (12), Jaksen Panzer (12), Will McDonough (12), and Chris Pelosi (12). The Stampede will return to action next weekend with back-to-back home games against the Waterloo Black Hawks and Tri-City Storm on Friday, April 7th, and Saturday, April 8th.
