Storm Set to Host Musketeers at Viaero Center

KEARNEY, NE. - The Tri-City Storm is set to host the Sioux City Musketeers tonight at the Viaero Center in a rematch of last night's Home Opener. Five different players scored a goal for Tri-City in last night's 5-2 victory. A 6:05pm CT start time for Saturday games at the Viaero Center has been introduced for the season, and tonight's game will be the first regular season game to start at 6:05pm CT this year for the Storm. Tri-City (3-0-0-0) held two separate three-goal leads during last night's matchup, and won the first regular season game played at the Viaero Center this season by a final score of 5-2. This is the third consecutive season in which the Storm has won at least three games in a row to begin regular season play. Goal scorers for Tri-City through the opening three games of this year's sixty-two-game regular season schedule include August Falloon (3), Trevor Connelly, Ryan Smith, Philippe Blais-Savoie, Dallas Vieau, Cameron Briere, and Nolan Roed. Cameron Korpi became the only goaltender in the USHL's Western Conference to start the season with a 3-0-0-0 record in last night's win. The Storm's powerplay is currently ranked 8th in the league at 12.5% after scoring in back-to-back games. Tri-City's penalty kill is 7th in the USHL entering tonight's matchup at 88.9%. The Storm will return to action after tonight's game on Friday night (October 6th, 2023) in a battle against the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders at the Viaero Center.

Sioux City (0-1-2-0-0) is one of four USHL teams without a win so far in the 2023-2024 regular season following last night's three-goal road loss to Tri-City. The Omaha Lancers, Des Moines Buccaneers, and Youngstown Phantoms also will look for their first victories of the season in today's slate of USHL games. Jordan Ronn, and Joeseph Mense each netted a goal for Sioux City in last night's road loss to the Storm. Samuel Urban dropped the game in net after making 28 saves on 31 shots. The Musketeers have not had a player score multiple goals through the first three games of the season. Hagen Burrows, Ethan Gardula, Joseph Mense, Jordan Ronn, Sam Court, Colin Kessler, and Brian Nicholas have all scored a single goal this season for Sioux City. The Musketeers powerplay is currently ranked 5th-best in the league at 28.6% entering tonight's game. Sioux City's penalty kill is 15th in the USHL with a success rate of 60.0%. The Musketeers will return to action following tonight's road game at the Viaero Center on Friday, September 6th with a home game against the Waterloo Black Hawks.
