April 6, 2024 - United States Hockey League (USHL)
Tri-City Storm News Release

KEARNEY, NE. - The Tri-City Storm is set for tonight's Youth Hockey Night game at the Viaero Center against the Sioux Falls Stampede after dropping a 6-5 shootout decision to the Stampede on home ice last night. Tri-City will wear specialty sweaters during tonight's battle that will be auctioned off following the contest. Tonight's game is the final time the Storm will wear specialty sweaters this season. Tickets to the game are available for purchase at www.StormHockey.com, or by calling the Viaero Center Box Office at 308-338-8144. Tonight's game will also be the final Saturday night home game of the 2023-2024 regular season. Puck drop is scheduled for 6:05pm CT.

Tri-City (27-21-4-7) moved one point closer to securing the right to host an opening round series at the Viaero Center in the 2024 Clark Cup Playoffs in last night's shootout loss. The Storm enters tonight's final game of the weekend in 4th place in the USHL's Western Conference standings. A win tonight in regulation time for Tri-City against Sioux Falls would guarantee a top-four finish for the Storm in the conference standings. Tri-City still could finish as high as 2nd place in the conference standings as the team enters the final three games of the 2023-2024 regular season. Trevor Connelly (2), Vsevolod Logvin, Seth Constance, and Cooper Simpson scored goals for the Storm in last night's high-scoring battle at the Viaero Center. Scoring leaders for Tri-City entering the final three games of the regular season include Trevor Connelly (29), Ryan Smith (23), Cam Briere (21), Artemi Nizameyev (15), A.J. Lacroix (15), and August Falloon (15). Connelly can become only the tenth player in franchise history to complete a thirty-goal regular season with one additional goal this year.

Sioux Falls (27-25-5-1) is now only two points away from clinching a spot in the 2024 Clark Cup Playoffs following last night's come-from-behind road win over Tri-City at the Viaero Center. The Stampede trailed by three goals entering the 3rd period, and eventually won the contest in a shootout decision. Sioux Falls can qualify for the postseason with a win of any kind over Tri-City tonight at the Viaero Center. The Stampede can also lock up a spot in the playoffs tonight if the Des Moines Buccaneers drop their home game to the Fargo Force in regulation time. The Lincoln Stars can also clinch a playoff spot tonight with a win of any kind paired with a Des Moines regulation time loss. The Chicago Steel clinched a spot in the postseason last night, leaving only two spots available. It is possible that by the end of play tonight, all spots for this year's edition of the Clark Cup playoffs will be claimed before the final week of the season begins. Scoring leaders for the Stampede entering tonight's road contest against the Storm at the Viaero Center include J.J. Wiebusch (29), Tyler Borgula (21), Chris Pelosi (20), and Chase LaPinta (20).

Tonight's game is set to begin at 6:05pm CT and will be streamed on FloHockey and Storm Radio. Tickets to home games at the Viaero Center may be purchased online by skating to www.StormHockey.com, or by calling the Viaero Center Box Office during Box Office hours at 308-338-8144. The Tri-City Storm is presented by Viaero Wireless.
