
Storm Set for Road Battle against Fighting Saints

DUBUQUE, IA. - The Tri-City Storm is set for tonight's road battle against the Dubuque Fighting Saints following last Saturday's 4-2 home loss to the Fighting Saints at the Viaero Center. Tonight's game is the first of four consecutive road games for Tri-City. The game will also be the second in the Storm's current run of playing five consecutive games against Eastern Conference competition.
The team will return home for back-to-back games against the Waterloo Black Hawks on Friday, November 10th, and Saturday, November 11th. Friday's game will feature a $5 Kids Friday presented by Big Apple Fun Center. Saturday's game will serve as the organization's annual Military Appreciation Night presented by Nebraska Warriors. The Storm will wear specialty jerseys for the contest that will be auctioned off following the game. Puck drop for Friday's game against Waterloo is set for 7:05pm CT. Saturday's game will begin at 6:05pm CT. Tri-City (7-3-0-0) seeks a bounce-back victory against Dubuque after suffering a two-goal loss to the Fighting Saints on home ice last Saturday night. Owen Beckner and Artemi Nizameyev each netted a goal during the battle for Tri-City. Tonight's visit to the ImOn Arena is the Storm's first since dropping a 2-1 overtime decision on November 15th, 2019. Tri-City will seek to defeat Dubuque on the road for the first time since completing a two-game weekend sweep against the Fighting Saints in back-to-back games at the ImOn Arena on March 22nd and March 23rd, 2019. The Storm currently holds a 2-1-0-0 record in head-to-head matchups against Eastern Conference competition this season. Tri-City has produced a record of 38-16-3-3 under Head Coach Anthony Noreen in games played against teams from the USHL's Eastern Conference. Scoring leaders for the Storm entering tonight's road game against the Fighting Saints include August Falloon (7), Nolan Roed (4), Ryan Smith (4), Trevor Connelly (3), Owen Beckner (3), Vladislav Lukashevich (2), and Cam Briere (2). The Storm will return to action tomorrow night with a road contest against the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders. Puck drop for tomorrow night's game is scheduled for 7:05pm CT.
Dubuque (7-1-1-1) holds sole possession of 1st place in the USHL's Eastern Conference standings entering tonight's home game against Tri-City. Luke Malboeuf, Fisher Scott, Seamus Powell, and James Reeder each netted a goal for the Fighting Saints in the teams' two-goal road victory over the Storm at the Viaero Center on Saturday night. Kevin Reidler turned away 31 of Tri-City's 33 shots on net to secure the victory in goal for Dubuque. The Fighting Saints have won six of the last seven games, and have failed to record points in the standings only one time in ten games played this season. Dubuque is 6-0-0-0 when leading after the 1st period, and 7-0-1-1 when leading after the 2nd period this season. Scoring leaders for the Fighting Saints entering tonight's home game against the Storm include Erik Pahlsson (7), Gavin Cornforth (7), Jake Sondreal (5), Chase LaPinta (4), Michael Barron (4), Juraj Pekarcik (3), James Reeder (3), Charlie Arend (3), and Colin Frank (3). Dubuque will complete play this weekend with a road game tomorrow night against the Waterloo Black Hawks at Young Arena.
