
Storm Seeks Weekend Sweep of Team USA

KEARNEY, NE. - The Tri-City Storm seeks a weekend sweep of the Under-17's of the United States National Team Development Program tonight at the Viaero Center in Kearney following a 4-1 home victory over Team USA last night. Storm players Seth Constance and August Falloon will be available for pictures and autographs following tonight's game. The postgame autograph session will begin immediately following the game. Tickets for tonight's matchup between the Storm and Team USA may be purchased online by skating to www.StormHockey.com, or by calling the Viaero Center Box Office at 308-338-8144. Puck drop is scheduled for 6:05pm CT.
Tri-City (14-11-1-2) has posted points in the USHL's Western Conference standings in back-to-back games following last night's result at the Viaero Center. Jake Rozzi, Trevor Connelly, Philippe Blais-Savoie, and Vladislav Lukashevich each netted a goal in last night's victory. The Storm improved to 3-4-1-0 when tied after the 1st period, and 11-0-1-0 when leading after the 2nd period this season in last night's three-goal victory over Team USA. Tri-City is now 4-6-1-1 against Eastern Conference competition, and 9-4-0-2 in games played at the Viaero Center this season. The Storm is 2-1-0-0 against the United States National Team Development Program in head-to-head matchups in the last five seasons. Tri-City has not completed a two-game sweep over Team USA since the team won back-to-back games against the United States National Team Development Program at the Ann Arbor Ice Cube on October 24th, and October 25th, 2014. Scoring leaders for Tri-City entering tonight's home game against Team USA include Ryan Smith (12), August Falloon (11), Trevor Connelly (10), Cam Briere (9), Artemi Nizameyev (8), and Owen Beckner (7).
Team USA (11-14-1-1) netted a powerplay goal during last night's 1st period, but was held off the scoreboard for the remainder of the contest. The Under-17's lone goal of the game was netted at 17:22 of the opening period by Charlie Trethewey. Donny Bracco recorded the lone assist on the scoring play. Team USA's Under-17's team dropped 2-10-1-1 in games against USHL competition in last night's road loss at the Viaero Center. The team now holds a 1-6-1-0 record in USHL road games this season. Scoring leaders for the Under-17's team this season include Will Moore (14), LJ Mooney (12), Conrad Fondrk (10), Cole McKinney (10), Charlie Trethewey (10), and Jack Murtagh (9). The Under-17 team will return to action after this weekend's road series against the Storm next weekend with back-to-back home games against the Dubuque Fighting Saints at USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth, Michigan.
Tonight's game is set to begin at 6:05pm CT and will be streamed on FloHockey and Storm Radio.
