Need to Know:

Wahlin Flourishing

Jake Wahlin was on the ice for the Storm's power-play goal Saturday against the Stampede, the 22nd time he was on ice for a Tri-City tally this season. The production accounts for 61.1% of the Storm's goals and is most among Tri-City's forwards.

The second-year USHL forward has been spurred by playing on a line with Nico Sturm and Carson Meyer; at least one member of the line has been on the ice for 16 of the last 18 Storm tallies. The trio has combined for 17 of the Storm's 36 goals (47.2%).

Wahlin has three goals and is third on the squad with 11 points.

Dello Drops 'Em

Storm Captain Tory Dello fought against Lincoln's Carson Gicewicz Friday, Tri-City's first fight of the season. The bout, at the 2:58 mark of the third period in the Storm's 14th game of 2015-16, made Tri-City the second-to-last USHL club to take a major penalty this season.

Dello took 17 penalty minutes on Friday, a two-minute minor for roughing, the five-minute major for fighting and a mandatory ten-minute misconduct assessed after the fight.

The third-year Storm defenseman leads the Storm with 39 penalty minutes and is a plus-4, tied with Alex Limoges for best on the team.

Meanwhile, Tri-City has had 69 opportunities on the power play, most in the league.

Other News and Notes

- Carson Meyer is tied for second in the league with nine goals and third in the USHL with 16 points.

- Mattias Goransson has 13 points, most for USHL defensemen. He has a league-best seven of those points on the power play. The native of Grums, Sweden has five goals, tied for best in the league among blueliners.

Game Recaps:

Game 14 at Lincoln: Stars shoot by Storm, 4-0

Tri-City Storm goalie Jake Kielly and Lincoln Stars netminder Peyton Jones each made 24 saves, but Jones stopped every Storm chance, leading Lincoln to a 4-0 win Friday at The Ice Box.

The Storm allowed two shots in the opening ten minutes of the game before the Stars scored a pair of goals in the first and two more in the second.

Tory Dello fought Carson Gicewicz at 2:58 of the third, the Storm's first major of the season.

The Storm penalty kill stopped two of three Lincoln chances and six of seven chances this weekend, remaining second in the league by killing off 87.9% of opponents' chances.

Game 15 at Sioux Falls: Sturm coaxes OT, Storm falls to Stampede, 2-1

Nico Sturm scored his fifth goal, but Parker Tuomie's tally at 3:11 of the 4-on-4 extra session stopped the Tri-City Storm, 2-1, against the Sioux Falls Stampede Saturday at the Premier Center.

The Storm evened the game at one on the man up nine minutes into the second courtesy of Sturm, the first-year USHL forward's tenth point.

The power-play goal boosted the Storm to a league-best 11 man-advantage tallies on the road. Tri-City has seven power-play goals in the last four games.

Tri-City nearly took the lead late in the third, outshooting the Herd, 11-4, in the final frame, but Stefanos Lekkas held after Sturm's goal, making 27 stops in victory.

The Storm's Matt Greenfield made 24 saves and yielded one goal in regulation, to Daniel Warpecha with six minutes left in the first. The 20-year-old Greenfield has helped the Storm reach overtime four times this season.
