Kearney, NE - The Tri-City Storm scored three goals in the first four minutes of the game and netted four additional goals to tie a season high in offensive production. The Storm dropped the Youngstown Phantoms 7-3 at the Viaero Center on Friday night and now hit the road for games against Des Moines and Sioux City to complete a three-game weekend. In the game, Tri-City got goals from Filip Forsmark, Asa Kinnear, Chase McLane, Shane Pinto, and Connor McMenamin. Jake Barczewski made 23 saves on 26 shots to record the win in net for Tri-City.

The Storm offense exploded for three goals in the game's opening four minutes and Tri-City carried a four-goal lead into the 2nd period. Filip Forsmark started the Tri-City scoring barrage at 2:23 of the 1st period on a goal assisted by Joe Molenaar and Elias Rosen. The game's next goal came less than a minute later as Asa Kinnear notched his 4th goal of the season at 3:01 of the period. Tyler Coffey collected the only assist on Kinnear's goal. For Coffey, the assist was his 1st career USHL point in his 1st first career USHL game. Chase McLane netted a goal 39 seconds later to push the Tri-City lead to 3-0. McLane's 3rd goal of the season was assisted by Connor McMenamin and Keaton Pehrson. Following the game's 3rd goal, Youngstown starting goalie Christian Stoever was replaced by backup goaltender Chad Veltri. Filip Forsmark scored another 1st period goal at the 11:03 mark of the period on a goal assisted by Ruben Rafkin and Chase McLane. Tri-City outshot Youngstown 21-7 in the opening period.

Chase McLane netted his 2nd goal of the game and 4th goal of the season just four minutes into the 2nd period to give Tri-City a 4-0 lead. McLane's goal at 4:37 of the 2nd period was assisted by Ruben Rafkin and would be the Storm's final scoring play of the period. The goal gave Tri-City a 5-0 lead in the game. Youngstown responded with goals from Matthew Barnaby Jr. at and Josh DeLuca to bring the Storm lead back to three goals. Barnaby's goal was scored at 9:14 of the 2nd period, and DeLuca's goal was scored shorthanded at 15:27 of the 2nd period. Tri-City was outscored 2-1 in the 2nd period, but outshot Youngstown 12-11 in the period and carried a three-goal lead into the 3rd.

Shane Pinto netted his 1st goal as a Tri-City Storm forward at 7:21 of the 3rd period to give the Storm a 6-2 lead. Pinto, who was acquired in a trade with the Lincoln Stars two days prior, scored his team leading 18th goal of the season. The goal was assisted by Calvin Dybicz. Youngstown scored its final goal of the game at 11:08 of the 3rd period to bring the Storm lead back down to three goals. The goal was scored by Brett Murray on the power play. Storm Captain Connor McMenamin scored his 13th goal of the season with less than four minutes to play to seal the win for Tri-City. McMenamin's empty net goal at 16:21 of the 3rd period gave Tri-City a 7-3 lead. The Storm outshot Youngstown 9-8 in the 3rd period, 42-26 in the game, and notched its 27th win of the 2018-2019 season.
