Stockton Kings Defeat the G League Ignite, 110-103

The Stockton Kings, the NBA G League affiliate of the Sacramento Kings (4-4), defeated the G League Ignite (0-8), 110-103 on Friday night at Adventist Health Arena (formerly Stockton Arena).
In the first quarter of play, the Stockton Kings shot 61.9% on 21 attempts from the floor and shot 5-of-8 from three. At the end of the first quarter the Kings led by 10, 23-34. Stockton Kings guard Jordan Ford led all-scorers with 14 points in the first quarter while shooting 83.3% FG. Kings forward Jalen Slawson also recorded five points, with two assists and one steal.
In the second quarter Ford continued his offensive showcase with by scoring eight points and shooting 2-of-2 from three. Ford accounted for 22 of the teams 59 points in the first half. Ford's performance helped give the Kings their largest lead of the night at 19 points with 5:32 remaining in the second quarter. Stockton Kings Center Chance Comanche added eight points and grabbed a team high four rebounds, while Kings guards Colby Jones and Kalob Ledoux both added three assists. In the first half the Kings shot 57.5% FG, 66.7% 3PT, and recorded 15 fast break points. At halftime, the Kings led 59 to 46.
To start the third quarter, Slawson knocked down a three-pointer with an assist from Ford to push the lead to 16. Stockton led by 12 after three, 84-72. In the fourth quarter, Jones led the Kings in scoring with eight points, followed by Slawson who had eight points (3-3 FG, 1-1 3FG) and one assist. Ignite went on an 11-4 run to cut the lead to seven in the final three minutes of regulation. However, Ignite failed to cut the lead any further and fell 110-101.
Overall, the Stockton Kings were led in scoring by Ford who finished with a game high 28 points, marking his third twenty-point scoring performance of the season. Meanwhile, Slawson recorded 23 points and three rebounds in 35 minutes, Jones contributed 18 points, and Comanche finished the night with 16 points and seven rebounds. As a team Stockton went 53.8% FG and shot a season high 54.2% from three.
G league Ignite forward Ronald Holland finished with a game high 32 points and nine rebounds. Ignite guard John Jenkins recorded 28 points and forward Adam Gilder scored 11 points and seven rebounds.
The Stockton Kings will host the G League Ignite again at Adventist Health Arena on Saturday, December 2 at 5:00 PM PST.
