Texas Legends News Release

FRISCO, TX - The Texas Legends (2-7) got beat at the buzzer by the Memphis Hustle (4-7) 109-110 Saturday night in Frisco.

Texas took their first lead of the night late in the first after a six-point streak, but the Hustle responded with a 9-0 run to the buzzer to take the top spot after one. Taze Moore put up 11 second-quarter points as the Legends knocked down 52% and used an 8-0 finish to head to the locker room up 55-50.

The lead was short lived as the visitors came out of the half firing. The Legends struggled from outside clipping 11%, and the visitors took advantage, doubling their output 35-17. Timmy Allen gave the Hustle their largest lead of the night (+15) early in the fourth and the visitors led for nearly 12 minutes. With 1:09 to play, Justin Jackson sank both free throws to bring Texas within one. Mike Miles Jr. took advantage of a Hustle misstep and put Texas on top with 13 seconds on the clock. Allen knocked down two from the line, but Jelly Walker regained the Legends' lead with 4.6 left. After a timeout, Taze Moore blocked Allen's final shot but David Johnson found one of his own to steal the victory for the visitors.

Walker had a career-high 27 points to lead the Legends while Moore grabbed his first double-double with season-highs in both points (16) and rebounds (10). Jackson added 23 points and Miles finished with 16 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists. Theo Pinson joined Miles off the bench for 12 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 assists.

Johnson powered the Hustle with 26 points, 16 rebounds off the bench. Allen and Cameron McGriff added 18 points apiece and Adonis Arms and Mychal Mulder tallied 13 points each.
