Duluth, GA - Forward Andrew Cherniwchan buried a goal and two assists to help the South Carolina Stingrays (12-10-0-4) topple the Gwinnett Gladiators (7-13-1-0) 6-3 at The Arena at Gwinnett Center Sunday afternoon. With the win, the Stingrays are on a three-game winning streak and have won eight of their last nine contests.

The Stingrays received six power-play opportunities in the opening period, capitalizing on one and took a 3-1 lead over the Gladiators into the intermission. Moments later, Stingrays forward John Mitchell buried his second goal in as many games to make it 1-1 at 9:53. Cherniwchan and defenseman Wade Epp added assists. Forward Caleb Herbert put the Stingrays in front with a 5-on-3 power-play goal at 14:26 ripping a shot from the left circle past Gladiators goalie Mark Guggenberger (L, 30 saves on 35 shots) setup by forwards Cody Sylvester and Wayne Simpson. Forward Braden Pimm claimed the two-goal Stingrays advantage at 18:35 lifting a shot along the goal line past a fallen Guggenberger from forward Joe Devin and defenseman Michael Young.

In the second period, the Gladiators fought back to tie the contest before the Stingrays grabbed two tallies in the final three minutes for a 5-3 advantage.
