South Carolina Stingrays News Release

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. - The South Carolina Stingrays announced today the marketing and sales partnership with the Girl Scouts of Carolina Low Country for the 2006-2007 season.

The partnership is designed to correspond with the Girl Scout Cookie Program which will run from January 6, 2007 through March 11, 2007. The Stingrays are providing incentives such as Stingrays tickets along with personal experiences to encourage participation in the cookie program. Each Girl Scout who sells at least 200 boxes of cookies will receive a free ticket to the Stingrays home game on March 25, 2007, which is being designated as Girl Scout Day with the Stingrays. Other incentives include participation in an on-ice contest or activity, dinner with the president of the team and head coaches, and the chance to be a guest radio commentator with broadcaster Mike Kelly.

"We are very excited about this new partnership between the Girl Scouts and the Stingrays," said Laura Schroeder, Product Sales Manager for the Girls Scouts of Carolina Low Country. "Girls will get to celebrate their success by spending the day with their friends, having fun, and enjoying a wonderful game of hockey at the same time. Sounds like a great Girl Scout event to me."

"The goal for this year's program is to market and distribute 750,000 boxes of cookies, including Operation Cookie Drop, a community action project organized for our military friends serving overseas," Schroeder continued. "The Stingrays recognize the girls' efforts and are helping reward them with a day of fun and great hockey. We can't thank them enough for their generosity. All the leaders and girls are really excited about the extra incentive program."

"The Stingrays are excited to add the partnership with Girl Scouts of Carolina Low Country," said Chris Lynch, Director of Scout Sales. "We look forward to providing some exciting prizes and incentives for their strong efforts in making the Cookie Program a success."

Girl Scout Day with the Stingrays will be Sunday March 25th at the North Charleston Coliseum. The theme of the game will revolve around the Scouts.

"The Stingrays will host an exciting Girl Scout Day at the Coliseum this year," said Lynch. "We are encouraging all family and friends of our Girl Scouts to come out and participate in the game and to watch the Stingrays battle the Charlotte Checkers."

Any Girl Scout who receives a complimentary ticket from their participation in the cookie program will have the ability to bring their friends and family out at a discounted rate of $8.00 for Upper Level tickets and $11.50 for Lower Level.

This year the Stingrays will once again hand out Girl Scout Patches. Similar to the Boy Scout patch, the 2006-2007 Scout patch will be designed in the form of a Stingrays jersey. Half of the patch will be given out on Scout Day October 21, 2006 and the other half will be given out on Girl Scout Day, March 25, 2007.

The Stingrays open their season at home on Saturday October 21, 2006 against the Columbia Inferno at 7:05 P.M. To book your Girl Scout groups for October 21st and March 25th, please call Chris Lynch at (843) 744-2248 ext. 1214.
