Stingrays Fall on Movember Night to Elmira

North Charleston, S.C. - The Elmira Jackals (6-1-0-0) defeated the South Carolina Stingrays (3-5-0-1) 4-2 at the North Charleston Coliseum Friday evening. Forwards Mike Hamilton and Matthew Pistilli scored for the Stingrays.

Hamilton started the scoring on the power play at 8:45 of the opening period slapping a pass from Pistilli past the left pad of Jackals netminder Marc Cheverie (W, 22 saves on 24 shots) from the top for the right-wing circle. Defenseman Tommy Cross added the second assist. Pistilli gave the Stingrays a two-goal lead with an unassisted tally at 15:01. After a scrap between Stingrays forward Tyler Randell and Jackals winger Kevin Harvey and a lengthy delay due to a power outage in the arena, the Jackals responded at with a goal from Brad Peltz at 18:19.

Jackals forward Dustin Gazley tied the contest at 10:16 of the second period burying a feed from forward Andrew Rowe past the blocker of Stingrays netminder Adam Morrision (L, 36 saves on 39 shots). Defenseman Kyle Bushee netted the game-winning goal for the Jackals on the power play at 15:53. Rowe sealed the victory with an empty-net goal at 19:19. The Stingrays ended the game 1-for-3 on the power play while the Jackals went 1-for-3.
