North Charleston, S.C. - November 2, 2012 - After six straight home games to open the season the Elmira Jackals embark on the road portion of their schedule tonight with a visit to the South Carolina Stingrays.

Tonight is the first of three scheduled meetings between the Jackals and Stingrays this season, and the only one at the North Charleston Coliseum. The Jackals are 4-7-2 all-time against the Stingrays and went 1-3-1 against them last season. South Carolina is one of three teams against which Elmira does not have a winning record. The Jackals are seeing their first action since last Saturday's 3-2 overtime win over Cincinnati while South Carolina is coming off of a 2-1 shootout loss at home against Orlando this past Tuesday.
Yesterday the Jackals added defenseman Justin DaCoasta to the fold. He signed with the Jackals after playing last season in Austria for Szekeshfehervar. A fourth-year pro, DaCosta last played in the ECHL for the Stockton Thunder in 2009-10. As a rookie he potted 24 points (3G, 21A) in 42 games. He last played in North America with the Central Hockey League's Allen Americans in 2010-11. There, under head coach Dwight Mullins, he helped the Americans to 47 wins and the conference regular season championship.
