Stingrays Announce 2011-12 Promotional Schedule

North Charleston, SC - The South Carolina Stingrays, proud ECHL affiliate of the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League, announced today the release of their 2011-12 promotional schedule.

The 19th season of hockey in the Lowcountry kicks off with Opening Weekend/Alumni Weekend on Friday, October 14 and Saturday, October 15 against the Reading Royals and Wheeling Nailers at 7:05 p.m. at the North Charleston Coliseum. On Friday, the first 5,000 fans will receive a 2011-12 Stingrays magnet schedule courtesy of Comcast. On Saturday, the Stingrays celebrate Alumni Weekend with a pre-game Stingrays Alumni Game and Military Appreciation Night presented by Force Protection. The second Military Appreciation Night takes place on Saturday, March 17.

The 2011-12 campaign marks a stronger commitment to fundraising and community involvement including the return of Domestic Violence Awareness Night on Saturday, November 5, Epilepsy Awareness Night on Saturday, November 19, Chase After a Cure on Saturday, December 17 and the 6th Annual Pink in the Rink Night on Saturday, February 25. Last season, Pink in the Rink Night raised over $46,000 for the Susan G. Komen Lowcountry foundation.

New additions to the schedule are Lowcountry Food Bank Canned Food Drive presented by Raising Cane's on Friday, November 4, Coat Drive for Tri-County Family Ministries on Saturday, November 5 and Toys for Tots presented by Count on News 2 WCBD on Friday, December 16.

Be sure to bring a stuffed animal to throw on the ice on Saturday, December 3 for the Stingrays' annual Teddy Bear Toss benefiting Debi's Kids/Salvation Army.

Sundays mean the return of Kid's Day featuring $5.00 kid's tickets anywhere in the North Charleston Coliseum and Skate with the Rays and Postgame Autographs. New for this year, every Sunday will be Snow Day presented by Yard Icing where kids can play in real snow!

Celebrate Cool Ray's birthday and Mascot Mania on Sunday, January 22 featuring several mascots from around the Charleston area.

Every weekday game this season features 2 for 1 Tickets and every Friday is $5 Beer!

Pack the House Night, where all tickets are $5, returns on Saturday, January 28. Six Free Parking nights highlight the 2011-12 schedule: October 14, December 3, December 17, January 28, February 25 and March 31.

The Stingrays wrap up the season with Fan Appreciation Night/Hall of Fame Night on Saturday, March 31.
