Stingrays Announce 2010-11 Regular Season Schedule

The South Carolina Stingrays announced today their 2010-11 regular season schedule. The 2010-11 season marks the Stingrays' 18th season of hockey in the Low Country.

The Stingrays kick off the campaign with Opening Weekend against Greenville, the newest member of the South Division, on Friday, October 15 at the North Charleston Coliseum followed by a visit from the Kalamazoo Wings on Saturday, October 16 and Sunday, October 17. The Stingrays square off against Greenville a season-high 17 times followed by the Gwinnett Gladiators (16) and the Florida Everblades (13).

Out of the ten different opponents the Stingrays will face this season, nine will travel to the North Charleston Coliseum including the reigning Kelly Cup Champions, the Cincinnati Cyclones. The Stingrays will play 30 of their 36 total home games on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday, down from 33 last season.

The longest home stand for the Stingrays stretches nine games from December 29 to January 16 against Greenville (2 games), Gwinnett (2 games), Trenton (3 games), Florida (1 game) and Kalamazoo (1 game). The Stingrays' longest road trip occurs in the middle of the season for six games from January 28 to February 8. The trip includes the team's first ever visit to Kalamazoo, Michigan on Friday, February 4 and Saturday, February 5.

The Stingrays home schedule ends on Sunday, March 27 against Greenville and the season wraps up on Saturday, April 2 in Florida.
