Sting Will Enforce Zero Tolerance Policy to Foreign Objects Being Thrown on Ice

Sarnia Sting News Release
It has come to the club's attention that during the second intermission of last night's Sting vs Spitfires contest at the Progressive Auto Sales Arena, select fans proceeded to toss unauthorized game ready pucks to the ice during the Chuck-A-Puck fundraising promotion. One of said pucks struck a Sarnia Sting promotional staff member causing minor injury. Fans are authorized to purchase foam pucks sold on the concourse to toss during this promotion. The goal of the Chuck-A-Puck program is to give local not-for-profit organizations and minor sports teams an opportunity to raise money during Sarnia Sting home games while giving our fans an interactive opportunity to win some great prizes.
Please note that the actions that occurred during Friday night's intermission are completely unacceptable and will not be tolerated. In the interest of the safety of our staff and fans, the Club will be making changes to how this promotion is run. In addition, Sarnia Sting game day staff, facility management and event security will be on hand to monitor the crowd during this promotion. Anyone found to be violating these rules and risking the health and safety of staff and fans will face serious consequences and potential legal action.
The Sarnia Sting is proud to be able to offer our community the opportunity to raise funds during our games and ask the public to respect the safety of our on-ice staff who work tirelessly to help execute these events.
If anyone has any concerns or can comment on the actions that occurred on Friday night at the Progressive Auto Sales Arena is encouraged to reach out confidentially to Team President Bill Abercrombie at 519 541 1717.
