Bulldogs Earn a Hard Fought Two Points with Win over Petes

HAMILTON, ONTARIO. After a tough night in Ottawa on Friday, the Bulldogs bounced back on home ice Saturday night by grabbing two big points from the Peterborough Petes with a 6-4 win.
Matthew Strome (27) gave Hamilton a 1-0 lead at 11:39 of the 1st period only to see the Petes respond less than four minutes later to end the period knotted at 1-1.
The Bulldogs started the 2nd period strong as Arthur Kaliyev (45) restored Hamilton's lead at 4:54 followed just 25-seconds later by a goal from Jan Jenik (6) that made it 3-1. Peterborough then scored two quick goals of their own to tie things up at 3-3 after 40 minutes.
The Petes took their first lead of the game early in the 3rd only to see the Bulldogs storm back. First Jan Jenik (7), with an individual effort, tied the game 4-4, Tim Fleischer (7) outwaited the Petes goalie for, what turned out to be the game winning goal and then Logan Morrison (11) scored an insurance goal to make the final 6-4.
