Sarnia, ON. - Sarnia Sting General Manager Dylan Seca is set to conduct his first OHL Priority Selection as GM. The Club will begin the process Friday, June 4th with the 13th overall pick.

The Draft will kick-off with rounds 1-3 on Friday night beginning at 7:00pm EST, followed by rounds 4 -15 on Saturday, June 5th at 9:00am EST.

Once again, the Draft will be held virtually amid the COVID-19 pandemic and will remain its customary 15 rounds in length. But, unlike past years, it will be held in a serpentine arrangement, with the order of selection in the first round being reversed to begin Round 2 and alternating each round thereafter.

Seca will look to add to a core group of young talent that includes skilled young forward and 2022 NHL Prospect Max Namestnikov. After being selected 3rd overall by the Sting, fans anxiously await Namestnikov's debut.

"We are thrilled to welcome Max and his family to the Sarnia Sting organization. Max possesses elite-level offensive skill which is matched by his work ethic and compete level. He was one of the top players on an outstanding Detroit Honeybaked team this past season. Max is a proven winner that comes from strong hockey bloodlines, our fans are certainly going to enjoy watching him play for the Sarnia Sting." comments Sting Owner David Legwand.

Two more promising young prospects to join the Sting next season include 51st overall pick Ryder McIntyre, as well as 163rd overall pick Zach Filak.

"From the first time we met Ryder, we knew he was a high character individual and one we really wanted to have in our organization. We were drawn to his combination of size, skill and possession of an elite level shot. Ryder is the type of player who has tremendous upside, and we look forward to watching him develop here in Sarnia," adds the Sting General Manager.

Seca also spoke highly of Filak as a "power forward with great still". Impressed by his ability to handle the puck, Dylan is confident he will contribute on the ice this coming October.

"He can make plays in the tough areas ... whether that be along the boards or in the offensive zone. Under pressure, he makes really good decisions, and he loves to hunt the net. For us, that's a big thing for a big player."
